CREATION’S PARABLES

The Tree and the Two Birds

A Parable of Direction and Design

In the quiet of the woods, a titmouse fluttered upward from branch to branch, her eyes searching the bark for a meal. She moved with grace and rhythm, climbing gently into the canopy.

At the same time, a nuthatch moved down the same tree—headfirst, sure-footed, pausing at each crevice to glean what the other missed.

They passed each other without fuss or fanfare, each content in the way they’d been made.

Neither tried to trade direction.
Neither envied the other’s path.
Both found what they needed by following the design written into their wings.

Reflection:

There is no shame in your direction if it is God who set it.
Some are called to rise, others to bow.
Some to lead, others to serve.
Each fulfills their purpose—not by imitation, but by obedience.
