Why I Built the Porch
There is something sacred about a porch.
It’s not quite the indoors, not yet the world.
It’s the threshold between solitude and connection—
a place to sit in the quiet,
to watch the wind stir the trees,
to welcome a friend without needing words.
This blog was born from that idea.
I wanted to create a place that feels like stepping onto a porch at sunrise—
where your soul can breathe before the day begins.
Where stories, prayers, poems, and images aren't posted for performance,
but offered like a warm cup of coffee placed gently in your hands.
Here, there is no rush.
No need to impress.
Only the slow unfolding of grace,
and the presence of the One who meets us in stillness.
If you've found your way here,
I pray that something you read—or even the silence between the words—
brings you peace.
The porch is open.
Come sit a while.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
